Question by etahn: What is the average file size of a mobile application? (apple, android, symbian, WinMo, blackberry, etc)?
Do any of you guys know how large is the average size of a mobile application (any mobile OS)? Really feel free of charge to classify the varieties of applications if you can.
Eg. Games – two MB
Social Networking – 1.5MB
Thanks a lot men and women!

Well Blackberry OS applications can range from a couple of kbs, to a couple mbs.
You can’t actually classify them into categories, e.g. games use far more than enterprise applications, because it just depends on how in depth they are and what they do. You could get a simple game such as a straightforward version of Tetris, an it could be only about 500 kbs. Even so if you got, say, a racing game, that would be much more complicated, it might be about 1 to 1.5 mbs. Another of this could be some apps. that I have, a “Quick Search with Google” – only 76 kbs, meanwhile my “Weather Channel” app. is a comparatively high 1.9 *mbs*. Now take into account what the two do. The Google search app is just a way to speedily search with Google, opening up your browser once you have hit enter or search. The Weather Channel app. is also comparatively significantly more complicated, sending and receiving quite detailed, at times complex data and Doppler maps back and forth. So it truly depends on how complicated the app. is or what it does, not really what type of an app. it is.
Hope this helped.
